Since the close of the Berkshire Christian College campus in the 1980s, we as Advent Christians have lacked a cohesive strategy for developing new pastors and leaders. We have developed several programs and linked with several other colleges and outside agencies, but our problem still remains. New and emerging leaders have no clearly identified path for entering into leadership within our Advent Christian network. During this session, we will discuss this issue, and will examine some of the options that we, as a network, do have available for emerging leaders. Additionally, we will begin what will (hopefully) become a longer-term discussion on how we can better utilize new and existing resources to more effectively and strategically develop pastors and leaders in the future.
Women minister uniquely to women, and Titus 2 teaches God’s way to meet needs within the body of Christ. God’s plan includes woman to woman…older to younger…day to day…life to life. Living our lives as Titus 2 women enables us to fulfill the purpose for which we were created. It helps our families and our churches to flourish and ultimately shines forth the beauty of the gospel to the world around us.
During this Vision Forum on Women's Ministries, we will discuss various aspects and dimensions of the Biblical mandate to women and ultimately to the entire church. As a result of this shared time, we will seek to discover multiple ways to advance the Titus 2 model of women’s ministries throughout our denomination.
Many denominations in North America are in steady decline and the Advent Christian denomination is no different. In this vision forum we will seek to better understand the culture that created the denomination, how that culture has changed and how that change has affected our denominational structures and systems. We look forward to a time of sharing thoughts and vision as together we seek the best path forward as Advent Christians.
What does the future look like for Advent Christian World Outreach? While no one but the Lord knows the proper answer, in this vision forum we will seek to ask and discuss questions that may point us toward God’s desired future. You will have the opportunity to hear and contribute to the discussions concerning challenges such as: How can we move forward with making new disciples of Christ, both at home and abroad? Should we promote other funding methods besides Penny Crusade? How can we reestablish an urgent sense of calling to ministry and missionary work among our North American churches? This vision forum is for all who desire to help us fulfill our Christ-given mandate to make disciples of all nations.
